I have successfully performed the upgrade of my Wave-300 and now I can see the NextTV screen.

However, I alsp see a message that reads "your account cannot be activated automatically at this time. Your resquest for the phone xxx-xxx-xxxx was recorded. Please call us to troubleshoot the problem"

It looks I am getting one step closer....I will give you a call in the morning.

can someone please tell me if vuvu bought out oversea tv or not??  and if we do switch do we have to give billing info over again? I have an ariza 500 reciever is that compatible with ariza 500   thnx

If you currently own a Wave 300 or Ariza 500 STB Below are the steps you need to do to get your box working with the Nextv Service.
1. You need to visit www.vutv.tv and download a firm ware upgrade called upgrade.tar.gz
2. you need to put that file on a BLANK usb key
3. attach the usb key to the back of your Set Top Box
4. unplug the power from the Set Up Box
5. hold the stand by button on the front of the Set Up Box down and replug the Set Top Box in while holding the stand by button and wait for 10 seconds exactly then release the button
6.Download should strat leave it on for 5 mins
7. Unplug and replug the Set Up Box after 5 mins and you should see the nextv logo on
8. If that does not work you need try using another USB key

For nexttv or vutv.  Are the Italian channels available on either service.  I am confused as to whether or not you are working together.  I have not done the upgrade on my wave 300 yet because I am not sure if any italian channels are available.

Does anyone know what happen with online package? I have no STB, I was using the WEB service with Media player at 19.99US $ per month; simple login with user name and password at www.TVItaliana.com  . It seem OverseaTV charged m credit card for december service but I can't use it.

what should I do? are you taking care of this as well?

I have performed the upgrade and I can now access the NexTV. However, I only see four channels (PRO7, DW, ZDW and RTL).

I am getting a bit confused! In your site (www.VuTv.tv) you advertise ten german channels. Am I missing something?

 

 

Did anyone contact a lawyer about this? If any of you did, then please send along the lawyer's name and phone number. There should be a lawsuit against ShiftTV and BroadShift. They cannot take people's money and disappear like this. At least not in this country.

Please let me (and others) know if one of you contacted a lawyer. If the answer is no, then I will be contacting one shortly and will keep you posted.

Can somebody please clarify this to me. I am a satisfied subscriber of Shift TV. So why did they disappear and if they did why would two companies have the same name?

I suspect Broadshift  / Shiftv had already filed for bankruptcy they know very well that in North America   they can be sued for so business practices unless they have filed for chapter eleven.   I personally paid for one year programming totaled $300 dollars they owe me $150 for the balance of the year.   Before any legal action I recommend you to file a complaint with the better business bureau   http://welcome.bbb.org/

Also call your Visa card to stop any further payments to that company and see if card your insurance could re-reimburse you for the lousy service they provided.

I noticed some confusion about two very similar company / service names.  They are ShiftTV (with 2 Ts) and ShifTV (with 1 T).

ShiftTV (2 Ts) is a subscription service offered by Netlantic GmbH, a German company.  This service allow subscribers to record programs from a selection 19 different German television channels using an online videorecorder.  The user selects in an advance of the broadcast from an EPG (electronic programming guide) the program he/she wishes to record.  The program is made available shortly after the broadcast for either download as a WMV file or for direct streaming from ShiftTV.  This company is currently in business and is a viable option for viewing German television anywhere in the world, including North America, albeit on a delay basis.

This is not to be confused with ShifTV Inc. (1T), a former Canadian company that offered a live streaming IPTV service under the name of OverseaTV (aka DeutschesTV, TVItalia, TVRyossia, etc.).  Some time in the Fall of 2007, ShifTV Inc. changed names to BroadShift Inc.  This name change coincided with a change in upper management (CEO, CFO, and others), the purchase of ITVN (another IPTV service), as well as a failed IPO attempt.  It would appear that the latter two events may have led to the untimely and sudden demise of BroadShift Inc.  In any event as we all know, ShifTV Inc. / BroadShift Inc. / OverseaTV is now a defunct operation.

I hope the above shed some light on the subject and clarified the confusion of the names.
