FrontLayer Technologies (frontlayer.com) has recently completed phase 3 update of its cloud-based video platform integrating content delivery to IPTV/OTT devices, mobile devices and websites.
GoogleTV support is now included in addition to Roku, so each customer account receives its own custom-branded channel available on both platforms, for no additional cost. Besides the existing API functions, content can be uploaded in real-time directly from an improved web-based portal.
Support for mobile devices has been enhanced for iPad, iPhone and Android, including dynamic multi-bitrate switching for all streams, enabling HD under high-bandwidth WiFi or 4G connections.
The FLC web-based player now includes built-in social sharing plugins for Twitter and Facebook, a manual embed option, advanced analytics, and a true white-label mode with custom branding. The UI has also been re-designed to be consistent across all devices and browsers.
VoD (pre-recorded) and live streaming modules are now enabled by default for all accounts, based on a highly scalable CDN distribution through Level3 network.
